SEA is an abbreviation for Search Engine Advertising and is also called PPC (Pay-Per-Click). It is part of SEM (Search Engine Marketing) and is about paid advertising on search engines — including Google AdWords advertising.
SEA is a paid form of advertising and is a supplement to SEO (search engine optimisation). With SEO, you optimise all the content that follows from your website. The focus area is that the technical platform is set up correctly and that the company has keywords that are relevant to your business.
SEO and SEA together are called SEM — Search Engine Marketing.
As a company, you must first know your target audience before you can begin advertising. The reason for this is that your company will be considered irrelevant to the target audience if you use irrelevant keywords.
It is essential to know what target audience you have, what characterises this audience, and which keywords might be relevant for your business to appear under.
That way, once the ads are set up, you can continuously deselect keywords that aren't relevant, and in this way you avoid paying for clicks that don't result in sales.
