Leads provide valuable information to the company about your customers and customer segments. The differentiation between cold and warm leads refers to the degree to which the leads are good. The warmer the potential customers are, the more likely they are to buy your product or service.
In a way, leads are buying signals. You gain insight into lead activities from visitors or customers. The process collects data and information from various databases/programs. The lead provides valuable information to the company.
You can track your site's leads when visitors have interacted with your website. That is, when a lead has, for example, filled out a form on the website. Always have CTA (Call to Action) buttons that make users want to fill out forms on your website. All this allows you to read where a lead is in the buying process, as well as which products they are interested in. This gives you an overview of visitors' and potential customers' behavior and interaction.
It is only considered a lead if the company has information on the potential consumer that also makes it possible for you to contact them afterwards. Tracking Leads is, however, not the same as Call Tracking (which takes place through phone calls).
